Aan’t Kanaal B&B is situated about 4km from the CBD of Upington and 2 km from the Kalahari Mall. The B&B opened its doors in January 2005 after some extensive renovation of an old house dating back to the 1950’s. Bordered by an expansive park on the one side and an irrigation canal – hence its name, “Aan’t Kanaal” – it also overlooks the renowned vineyards of the Green Kalahari. Although Aan’t Kanaal is situated within 300 m of the N14 it offers a tranquil atmosphere, enhanced by abundant, indigenous bird life. The swimming pool is available to guests whilst an expansive garden contributes to the relaxed surroundings. Secure parking with remote-controlled access is available within the premises.
Guest accommodation consists of two spacious en-suite rooms within the main house as well as one separate self-catering flat. All rooms and the flat are fitted with split-unit air conditioners, a necessity during the hot summers and cold winter nights. One room is wheel-chair accessible. DSTV (Stay essential bouquet) and Wireless internet are available in all rooms.
Aan’t Kanaal B&B offers breakfast on request only. There are several reasonable restaurants in Upington where guests can have lunch or evening meals. Braai facilities available at the self-catering flat. Coffee and tea facilities, a bar fridge and microwave are available in both rooms and the flat.
Family groups are welcome but small children must be supervised at all times especially at the pool and at the pond in the garden. We also accommodate pets in the self-catering flat, but it must be arranged with management beforehand. The Upington Parkrun Route starts 50m from Aan’t Kanaal in Liebenberg Street – an early Saturday morning run or walk for the fit on the banks of the Orange River.
